Participation Information

General information

  • The registration and information desk will be open on the second floor of Tohoku University Centennial Hall (Kawauchi Hagi Hall) at 10:00a.m. on November 4th (Thursday) and at 9:45a.m. on November 5th-7th (Friday-Sunday).
  • During the conference, wifi is available both at the main conference site, Centennial Hall (Kawauchi Hagi Hall), and Study Hall of Bld. B (the site for the Saturday and Sunday lounge and posters).

About oral presentations

  • To each regular oral presentation, 20 minutes is given for the talk and 10 minutes for discussion. As for the division of time for plenary talks, symposiums, and workshops, please follow the instructions of the chairs or organizers.
  • Each speaker is expected to bring his/her laptop to use computer slides for the presentation. Please make sure that you bring all the hardware/adaptors to connect your laptop to a standard (VGA) projector/monitor cable (e.g., Mac users may require machine specific connectors).
  • To avoid unexpected technical failure of portable media such as USB flash drives, we would strongly recommend you to have a backup copy. We would also advise you to prepare a converted PDF version of your slides as well as the original PowerPoint or DVI file.

About poster presentation

  • Each participant can use a 900 X 2100 mm poster panel.
  • The participants must put their posters on the allocated panel by themselves before the poster session begins and take them off when the session is over. Pins will be available at the poster session room.
  • The participants must be in the session room throughout the session to explain their research.
  • DO NOT send your poster to the Local Organizing Committee by post.

About student session presentation

  • The student session consists of the Student Short Oral Presentations at 13:15-14:15 on November 7th (Sunday) and the Poster Presentations at 14:45-17:05 on the same day. The former is held at Centennial Hall (Kawauchi Hagi Hall), and the latter at Study Hall of Bld. B. The participants must take part in both sessions.
  • To each speaker, 3 minutes is given in the oral session. The speakers must send slides no longer than 5 pages (including the title page) in PDF format by October 29th (Friday) by email to:
